Write With Liza in the Santa Cruz Mountains

October 8, 2016

This one-day retreat hosted at the stunning Ridge Top Getaway in the serene mountains of Santa Cruz will be an escape into your Zone of Genius.

Whether you have been writing for years, do it professionally, or are new to it - this day long experience will be the perfect place to unravel from daily stresses, clear blocks, and re-emerge feeling inspired. We will begin the day with a gentle, yet powerful Yoga class. Then we will move into writing time with prompts (optional to use these for your writing time). The day will continue to unfold like this with guided and free leisure breaks to release tension and 'stuckedness' as well as create space for your inner genius to emerge.

You will have Liza guiding you and supporting you through the writing journey and Amber guiding you and supporting you through the Yoga + Release journey. Between the movement, breathing, nature, and community you will find yourself writing like never before! At the close of the evening (around 5:30pm) we will move into a fireside reading with wine.

Monday, December 5, 2016 — NIGHT OUT WITH LIZA MONROY, AUTHOR OF SEEING AS YOUR SHOES ARE SOON TO BE ON FIRE

Join author Liza Monroy for a reading and signing of her new book, Seeing As Your Shoes Are Soon To Be on Fire, a heartfelt and relatable collection of essays cataloguing Liza’s adventures in modern dating. Liza’s book spans a variety of countries and a variety of men, all bound together under the watchful eye of her eccentric, single mother, a profiler for the U.S. State Department, who is soon using her professional aptitude to weed out the men in her daughter’s path. Come hear Liza discuss how this book came to be, her dynamic relationship with her mother, and her thoughts on the modern dating scene. Then share a photo or screenshot of a potential love interest-or, if you’re brave, bring a date-and let the Profiler tell you if it is (or isn’t) true love. Don’t miss this one-of-a-kind event with a rising literary star.
